There are many great and effective cardio machines and the elliptical is an awesome choice if you are looking for a great workout. Elliptical exercise equipment can always be found in gyms and can easily be used in your home or office. If you enjoy working out with exercise machines, you will really enjoy using an elliptical. An elliptical has pedals, unlike a treadmill and features handles to hold on to. The elliptical machine is designed to glide in a backward and forward motion, using both your legs and arms allowing for a full body workout.
Elliptical Exercise Will Increase Stamina:
Elliptical machines help increase your aerobic ability and stamina, allowing you to exercise for a longer period of time without becoming out of breath. Using an elliptical will definitely make you break a sweat, therefore increasing your heart rate allowing you to do more activities. You do not need a lot of time on an elliptical machine. So, if you are short on time the elliptical is a great way to get the best workout in only 20-30 minutes. The elliptical can be used as often as you like. However, to get the best results I recommend doing this exercise at least a minimum of three times a week.
Elliptical Machine Has No Impact on the Knees:
There are many people who suffer from knee problems, arthritis, ligament tears, osteoporosis and other conditions. When we suffer from these types of unfortunate injuries it can be very challenging to find good cardio exercises without causing ourselves even more pain. Because your feet are on gliding platforms and you are performing this exercise gliding in a forward and backward motion, this has no impact on your knees. Unlike when you use a treadmill. Using a treadmill has a huge impact on your knees and an elliptical has no impact whatsoever. We are not saying a treadmill isn’t a great piece of equipment. However, if you suffer from anything I mentioned above, using an elliptical may be a better choice for you. Often the elliptical is used for rehabilitation purposes after people have knee surgery. It is also highly recommended by physicians for people who are on the heavier side or obese. There is no impact on your knees when using an elliptical unlike most other fitness equipment.
You can burn many calories using an elliptical. Did you know that you can burn up to 400 calories in only 30 minutes according to Harvard Health Publications? There are many factors on how much you can burn. For example, the more you weigh, the more fat you will actually burn. By increasing the intensity of your workout you will also burn more calories. Adding more resistance to any type of fitness exercise will help burn more calories and fat. Using an elliptical has many great benefits.
Elliptical Exercise Work Your Upper and Lower Body:
Using an elliptical works out your entire body including arms, back, chest, shoulders and legs. Using an elliptical targets many areas of the body and will give you a full body workout in as little as 20 minutes. That’s pretty amazing! Finding twenty minutes a day, three times a week, isn’t too much time at all to take away from your busy day to start living a healthier and happier life. You can even watch your favorite TV show and get an elliptical exercise in. We can all find that hour or so a day to catch up on our favorite TV show. Why not utilize that time with becoming fit and healthy at the same time? Instead of sitting on the couch eating, hop on your elliptical and get a great full body workout in!
